It takes a lot of people and a lot of work to make our programs
successful. Much of that effort is contributed by volunteers. But the planning,
organizing and coordinating is done by the efficient and professional staff
shown on this page.
Gail Ezelle, Executive Director
Gail Ezelle, Hot Springs, established the Senior Arkansas Sports Organization
as a non-profit in 1993. She oversees the operation of the Arkansas Senior
Olympics, Nothing But Net 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, and Senior Softball
She serves on the Board of the National Senior Games Association. She is a
member of the National Park Rotary Club, Board of Trustees for National Park
Community College, Leadership Hot Springs and numerous other civic boards and
Gail received the Governor's Leadership and Fitness Award for 2003 from Governor
Mike Huckabee as well as being selected by the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce
last year as 'Outstanding Woman of the Year'. She was awarded the Spirit Award
from Baptist Medical Center (August 2006) and also received from Congressman
Mike Ross a "Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for outstanding
work and commitment to Arkansas Senior Olympics".
Gail previously participated in swimming events during the games and has
qualified for the national games. Her late husband, Ralph, former Senior
Olympian, was the Arkansas Senior Olympic Results Manager. They have five
children and many grandchildren.
Dawne Brooks, Assistant
Dawne Brooks, Hot Springs, has worked with Senior Arkansas Sports
for eleven years. She established Nothin' But Net 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
and the Senior Softball Tournament. Dawne is the tournament director for all
basketball, softball and other team sports. During the Arkansas Senior Olympics
she and her husband, Claude, work on event sites. She does all graphic designs
for t shirts, special events flyers and posters.
Dawne is Arkansas Director of the Softball Players Association. She has an
Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She
has two daughters, Stephani and Brooklin, and twin granddaughters.
Dawne's husband, Claude, is the data specialist for the Senior Arkansas
